Upgrade components
Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into weapons, armor, trinkets, and gathering tools to give an added benefit or additional effect while the equipment is being utilized. They can be purchased from vendors or other players, looted, gotten as a reward, or created using crafting materials. Upgrades can have cosmetic effects, in addition to offering bonus points for attributes.
Upgrade components can include inscriptions, enhancements and infusions. They aren't generally available for general use and can only be used on ascended equipment or certain weapons that aren't ascended from the Factions Campaign. Infusions, inscriptions and enrichments can be retrieved from equipment with an Infusion Extraction Device. They can also be salvaged using a Blacklion Salvage Kit or an Ascended Salvage Tool.
Unlike other upgrade item s Phoenix Boxes are able to be traded even while still attached to the item they are upgrading, and they can be re-used after being salvaged. These upgrades are the best method to increase the quality of your the quality of armor and weapons without spending Dilithium because they can increase the item's chance of receiving an upgrade by two times.
A component that is upgraded in an item may be replaced with another however, it will destroy the previous one (except for upgrades to legendaries and equipment that has been ascended). Upgrade components can only be added to upgraded items that have an identification level of zero or greater. When you upgrade an existing weapon equipped with a suffix or prefix upgrade will display the name of the resulting item as it would appear in the game (for example, adding the Radiant Insignia to Canthan Armor will cause it to be named Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). A player is limited to three upgrade items at once.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be an excellent accessory to any item. They offer unique benefits and boosts. Some glyphs can also increase the number of affixes that can be placed on an item, thereby increasing the overall power of the item. These glyphs are acquired by working through dungeons. Some are even found in certain World Tier 3 zones. It is important to remember that glyphs can't be used on a character that has not been able to create a root dungeon of the same depth.
To use a Glyph you first need to create it using components, and then connect them using anchors. Then, the component will automatically align itself to other components and paths in the same layer. If you don't want to create the glyph from components, you can build it by combining paths and anchors. Then, drag an element near an element highlighted to snap it into place.
Some glyphs have conditions to meet, such as having a minimum of 25 Dexterity in a specific region on the Paragon Board. Certain glyphs also require a certain number of Primary Stat nodes to be activated which is sometimes difficult to attain. Some glyphs have a radius that grows with each level.
Glyphs can be applied to many different weapons and items, with the exception for those of a specific class. Some of these glyphs require conditions, such as having a certain amount of dexterity or attack damage in a specific location on the Paragon board.
The Defend Glyph gives you an 5% chance to block enemy attacks. It also has an opportunity to render the Hero vulnerable for two turns.
Some glyphs can also be applied to restricted tools, such as the Black Lion Chest and Trading Post. The addition of these glyphs will count towards the Combat Mechanic achievement.
The most commonly used glyphs are the attack glyphs, which boost the ATK substats of Artifacts with a flat value. These glyphs are especially beneficial for classes that use weapons that are ranged, like Warriors or Rogues. Other glyphs include the Exploit Glyph which makes enemies who strike the Hero susceptible to damage.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens can be used for rerolling results that are rolled during an Action. They are discarded when the reroll happens. Reroll tokens are available in a variety of ways, including dungeons and raids, or by participating in skirmishes. They can also be bought at the shop or from other players. They are particularly useful in dungeons or trials because they allow players to roll rewards from the bottom of the chest.
For items at the level 1 there are recycling points. If an item is recycled it will add a certain amount of points to the gauge for upgrading. This is based on the rarity of the item and its level. In addition, the upgraded item won't retain its level when rerolled and the cost for recycling an upgraded item rises with the level of the item.
The player may also use reroll tokens to make an item rerollable. However, this will not restore the item's original stats or levels. This is a great option for players who wish to reroll an item that they aren't happy with and want to keep it in their collection.
There are three types of upgrade tokens available in the game: reroll random and upgrade. Each type comes with a couple of subtypes. For example, reroll tokens come in three different levels: enhanced, rare and legendary. Each level requires an item from its respective level to create the new item of that level.
To make use of reroll tokens right-click on the Satanic or Angelic item in inventory and select "Reroll Token". Select the type of token. The tokens that are available include Item, Weapons, Misc, 1hguns, 2hguns and Focus. Utilizing an Item token will produce the creation of a new Item of any quality. A Weapon or Misc token will create a brand new weapon belonging to the same faction.
There is also the possibility that the item could be upgraded into a new item with a higher level and the same additional stats. This could happen when the item is in the Pool that is not droppable or has been transferred to it as part of the Franchise Card.
